One can certainly overdo sequins ... and most of the time, they are overdone.
But they're so fun and appropriate this time of year, and a small-ish injection of them into an ensemble is chic, and not at all distasteful.
It's not a trend I would spend a fortune on; but I would certainly embrace it with a piece or two.
